The
Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center
(AOERC) is located at 285 Santa Teresa Street. It is
located near Governor's Avenue across from Lagunita
Court.
Use/Purpose:
The AOERC is a
recreation facility for students, faculty and staff, and includes a 50-meter
outdoor pool (with wheelchair accessible ramp and wheelchair lift) and locker
room facilities. In addition, a climbing wall, outdoor education center, three
indoor courts for basketball and volleyball, and a badminton/exercise studio are
all located on the ground floor. The lower level includes academic classrooms,
the cycling team and sports medicine areas, and a 14,000 square foot fitness
center with cardio, strength training and adaptive equipment.
Accessible Entrance:
The main entrance of
the AOERC is accessible and is equipped with power-operated doors. Once inside,
the elevators are located beyond the Information Desk on the left and provide
access to all floors (ground and lower levels). Once inside the main entrance,
the Outdoor Education Center is located to the left and the climbing wall is
located to the right. The pool is accessible via doors from the locker room
facilities on the lower level.
Restrooms:
Wheelchair accessible
men's and women's restrooms are located on the ground
floor, to the left past the Information Desk and through the glass doors.
Wheelchair accessible men's and women's restrooms are
also located on the lower level, down the hallway to the left, once off the
elevator. In addition, wheelchair accessible men's and women's restrooms, and
wheelchair accessible showers, are located inside the locker room facilities on
the lower level, which are located straight ahead once off the
elevator.
Parking & Transportation:
Disabled parking is
located directly in front of the AOERC along Santa Teresa Street. Additional
disabled parking will be located in Parking Structure 10 beginning in Fall
2016. The closest Marguerite shuttle stop is located on Santa Teresa Street
near Lagunita Court.
