The
Braun Music Center is located at 541 Lasuen Mall. It is adjacent to Dinkelspiel Auditorium and near the Post
Office.
Use/Purpose:
The
Braun Music Center houses the Music department. The Campbell Recital Hall is located on
the 1st floor and the Music department library is on located on the
2nd floor. Office spaces
are clustered throughout the 1st and 2nd floor. NOTE:
Braun Auditorium is NOT located in the Braun Music Center; Braun
Auditorium is located in the Mudd Chemistry Building
(333 Campus Drive). Also, the
Geology Corner (Building 320) is commonly referred to as Braun Hall.
Accessible Entrance:
An
accessible pathway from White Plaza leads directly to the entrances of Braun
Music Center. When facing Braun,
from White Plaza, turn left and an accessible entrance is located at the
northeast corner of the building.
Under the arcade connecting the east and west sections of Braun are two
additional accessible entrances (furthest door south is equipped with a
power-operated door). The main
entrance to the Campbell Recital Hall, equipped with a power-operated door, is
on the southwest side of the building.
From the disabled parking spaces near Lagunita
Drive, head east (towards the Law School) and the entrance is on the left. Once inside proceed through the building
to the courtyard and enter the Campbell Recital Hall via the courtyard
(power-operated door). Wheelchair
seating is located in the front.
Restrooms:
Wheelchair
accessible men's and women's restrooms are located on both the east and west
side of Braun Music Center. No restrooms are located on the 2nd
floor.
Parking & Transportation:
No
vehicles are allowed into this central part of campus. There are several
disabled spaces located at the southwest side of Braun and additional disabled
parking is located in the Tresidder parking lot
(L-39). A Marguerite shuttle stop
is located behind Tresidder Union on Lagunita Drive.
Points of Interest:
The
Stanford Bookstore is located adjacent to the Post Office and provides the
opportunity to shop for books, school supplies, and Stanford apparel.
There are often special events occuring in White Plaza, including career fairs,
craft fairs, art shows, performances, and student-led
protests.
