The
Li Ka Shing Center for
Learning and Knowledge (LKSC) is located at 291 Campus Drive. It is located between the Beckman Center
and the Fairchild Center.
Use/Purpose:
The
LKSC brings together cutting-edge medicine, modern education, and advanced
technology, by design. A variety of
teaching and learning spaces are located throughout the building, including the
Paul & Mildred Berg Conference Center (2nd floor). The Office of Dean of the School of
Medicine is located on the 3rd floor and the School of Medicine
Bookstore and the Med Café are located on the 1st floor. There is also a fitness center located
on the 4th floor of LKSC that is exclusive to medical, graduate, and
biosciences students.
Accessible Entrance:
The
main entrance to the LKSC, equipped with a power-operated door, is located on
the south side of the building (facing Campus Drive). There is also an accessible entrance on
the north side of the building, also equipped with a power-operated door,
across from the Lane Building.
Finally, there is an accessible entrance, equipped with a power-operated
door, on the west side of the building (across from the Beckman Center). Once inside the main entrance, the
elevator is down the hallway on the left side and provides access to all floors
(G, 1, 2, 3, 4).
Restrooms:
Wheelchair
accessible men's and women's restrooms are located on
each floor of the building and are located down the hall beyond the
elevator. A wheelchair accessible,
roll-in shower is located in the 4th floor restrooms.
Parking & Transportation:
The
nearest disabled parking is located in a small parking lot to the south of the
building (L-15). Additional
disabled parking is located to the west of the building in L-16, L-18, and
Parking Structure 5. The closest
Marguerite Shuttle stop is located on Campus Drive.
Points of Interest:
While
in the area, visit the SIM1 building, which houses the Dale Chihuly
Chandelier, Tre Stelle di Lapislazzuli.
