The Huang Engineering Center is located at 475 Via
Ortega. It is located in the heart
of the Science and Engineering Quad (SEQ), adjacent to Y2E2 and across from the
Nano Building.
Use/Purpose:
The Huang Center, home of the School of Engineering,
is a state of the art building. The
300-seat NVIDIA auditorium is located on the terrace level (basement level via
elevator) and the Frederick Terman Engineering Library
is located on the 2nd floor.
Office space, classrooms and conference rooms are located throughout the
building.
Accessible Entrance:
Accessible entrances are located throughout the
Huang Center. Power-operated
accessible entrances are located at the north and south sides of the octagonal
rotunda. An elevator is located in
the octagonal rotunda and provides access to all floors (B, 1, 2 and 3). Interior
corridors connect the rotunda to the Huang Center on all floors, except the 1st
floor. There are also accessible
entrances at the east and west sides of the building. The only step-free access to the terrace
and the NVIDIA auditorium is via the elevator inside the rotunda. An interior corridor at the basement
level connects the Huang building to the Spilker
building.
Restrooms:
Wheelchair accessible, multi-stall, men’s and
women’s restrooms are centrally located on all floors.Wheelchair
accessible single-occupancy, all-gender restrooms are also located on the basement
level (down the hall from the men’s and women’s restroom and turning left) and
the first floor of the octagonal rotunda. The all-gender single-occupancy
restrooms also have accessible showers.
Parking & Transportation:
Marguerite shuttle stops are located on Serra Mall
near the front of the Hewlett Teaching Center and along Panama Street.
There are two disabled parking spaces located directly behind the Nano Building
on Via Pueblo. Additional disabled
parking is located at Via Ortega Parking Garage (corner of Via Ortega and Panama
Street).
