The Terman
Engineering Lab is located at 488 Escondido Mall. It is located on the corner
of Escondido Mall and Lasuen Mall across from the
Clock Tower and adjacent to Building 520.
Use/Purpose:
The Terman
Engineering Lab houses the Mechanical Engineering department and the Stanford
Archaeology Center. Departmental offices and lab spaces occupy the 1st
and 2nd floors with a classroom located on the 1st floor
and the mechanical engineering library located on the 2nd floor.
Accessible Entrance:
There are two entrances on the north side
(Escondio Mall) that are accessible, however the path
of travel is up an incline.Once inside, the elevator is to the left, down
the hall. On the northeast side of the building (facing the Clock Tower), the
entrance is equipped with a power-operated door.Once inside, proceed down
the hallway and through a door in order to access the elevator to the 2nd
floor. While the entrance on the southeast side of the building is accessible,
there is no access to other parts of the building. The rear entrance from
Panama Mall is also accessible and closest to the elevator accessing all floors
(G, 1, 2).
Restrooms:
Wheelchair accessible multi-occupancy
restrooms are located on the 1st floor at the west side (Archaeology
Center side) of the building. The women¿s restroom is located to the right of
the main entrance. The men¿s restroom is located through the kitchen and to the
left.
Parking & Transportation:
There are a few disabled parking spaces at
the end of Panama Mall, near the Old Union Nitery. Additional disabled parking
can be found at the Tresidder Lot located on Lagunita
Drive and Mayfield Avenue across from Tresidder Union
or at the Oval. The closest Marguerite shuttle stops are either behind Tresidder Union on Lagunita Drive or at the front of the Main
Quad on Serra Mall.
Points of Interest:
The Main Quad and the Old Union are
located on either side of this building. The Stanford Bookstore is located
across White Plaza from this building and Tresidder
Union is just past the Old Union. Eateries are located within close proximity
