'Stone River' on Stanford's campus

Plans Review and Campus Maintenance

Main content start

Many campus offices are involved in plans review, along with Facilities Operations who administers the process. Plans review can reduce project costs and time to obtain a permit and it ensures that Stanford standards and guidelines are maintained. To get started, contact the District (formerly Zone) Management   group who will help you coordinate the process, along with Maps and Records.

Facilities Operations   provides repairs, maintenance, landscaping, and other services, and can be a helpful source of information about your building. They can recommend appropriate equipment for your project.

Plans Review tips:

  • Plans review can be conducted at three stages: Schematic design, Design development, Construction documents
  • Visit the Plans Review information page   for information on how to submit project documents
  • Use the Facilities Design Guidelines (FDG) to choose appropriate materials and equipment for your project
  • Allow 2 weeks + 2 days to complete the review process
