Gilbert Biological Sciences is located at
371 Serra Mall. It is located across from the Gates Computer Science Building,
along North-South Axis, and near Herrin Labs.
Use/Purpose:
Gilbert Biological Sciences houses
facilities and personnel in the Biological Sciences department. Labs, office
spaces and conference rooms are located throughout the building.
Accessible Entrance:
There are several accessible routes providing
entrance to Gilbert. There is a ramp on the west side of the building (across
from Gates) that leads to the main entrance. Additionally, there is a ramp on
the north side of the building, if traveling from the Sapp Center, that leads
to the main entrance on the east side of the building. Lastly, there is an
accessible pathway between Herrin Hall and Herrin Labs that leads to the
entrance on the east side of the building. Both entrances are equipped with a
power-operated door. Once inside, the elevator is centrally located and
provides access to all floors (B, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Restrooms:
All restrooms in Gilbert are wheelchair
accessible. On the 1st floor, multi-occupancy men¿s and women¿s restrooms
are located near the elevator. There are additional multi-occupancy men¿s and
women¿s restrooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th
floors upon exiting the elevator, down the hall to the right and left side. On
the basement level, there are two all-gender, single-occupancy restrooms with a
roll-in shower near the elevator.
Parking & Transportation:
The closest disabled parking is located at
the Roth Way Garage at the corner of Roth Way and Campus Drive. Additional
disabled parking is located on the Oval and in a small parking lot adjacent to
the Sapp Center, at the corner of Roth Way and Lomita Drive. The closest Marguerite
shuttle stop is located on Serra Mall.
Points of Interest:
Annette¿s Café is located to
