The Varian building is located at 382 Via Pueblo
Mall. It is across from the western part
of the Main Quad and between Sequoia Hall and the Physics and Astrophysics
building, at the corner of Via Pueblo Mall and Lomita Mall.
Use/Purpose:
The Varian building is occupied by the Physics department,
and the Hansen Experimental Physics Lab (HEPL).
The Stanford Institute of Theoretical Physics is located on the 3rd
floor. The building contains a variety of office space and laboratories.
Accessible Entrance:
The main entrance is located on Via Pueblo Mall and
is not accessible. The accessible
entrance is located at the northeast corner of the building (across from the
Main Quad) via a ramp near a set of stairs.
At the top of the ramp, proceed through the exterior courtyard between
Varian and Physics & Astrophysics to the accessible entrance. Once inside the Varian entrance, an interior
hallway connects to Physics & Astrophysics on the left; turn right to enter
the rest of Varian Physics. An elevator is located on the right side of the
hallway and provides access to all floors (B, 1, 2, 3, 4). There is also an accessible route and
entrance via the loading dock at the rear of the building and through to
physics stockroom (not a public entrance).

Parking & Transportation:
The closest Marguerite shuttle stops are located
along Serra Mall near the west side of the Main Quad. Disabled parking is
located on the Oval (at the end of Palm Drive) and a few disabled spaces are
located on Via Pueblo between Sequoia Hall and Varian Physics Lab.
Points of Interest:
Continuing along the East-West Axis, beyond the Physics and Astrophysics
building, is the Science and Engineering Quad (SEQ). The SEQ includes several
