The Gordon & Betty Moore
Materials Research building is located at 466 Lomita Mall. The building is
located between the Physics & Astrophysics Building and McCullough.
Use/Purpose:
The Moore Materials Research Building
houses the Geballe Laboratory for Advanced Materials
(GLAM), an independent laboratory that supports and fosters interdisciplinary
education and research on advanced materials in science and engineering. Equipment rooms, lab and research spaces, and storage and procedure
rooms are located throughout the building.
Accessible Entrance:
The main entrance is located
on Lomita Mall, across from the Main Quad, and is not accessible. There are accessible
entrances on the north and south side of the building equipped with
power-operated doors. Please note that this facility is not open to the public
and card-reader access is required to enter the building. A centrally located
elevator provides access to all floors of the building.
Restrooms:
There are wheelchair
accessible, multi-occupancy men¿s and women¿s restrooms centrally located on
all floors of the building.
Parking & Transportation:
The Moore Materials Research
building is located in an area concentrated with buildings and is in close
proximity to the Main Quad. As a result, disabled parking and a Marguerite
shuttle stop are not in close proximity. The nearest disabled parking is
located at the end of Via Pueblo, between Varian and Sequoia. The closest Marguerite
shuttle stop is on Serra Mall near the Main Quad or on Panama Street near Roble
Gym.
Points of Interest:
The Moore Materials Research Building is located near the Science and
Engineering Quad (SEQ). The SEQ includes several cafes and outdoor courtyards. For
