1. Location Tip
Surrounding buildings: Cubberley, Green Library, Sweet Hall, Career Development
Center
2. Use / Purpose
Meyer Library is used primarily by undergraduate students. Classrooms are
located on the perimeter of the building's first floor, as is the Disability
Resource Center (Room 123), while the 2nd and 3rd floors contain reference
books and technology resources (see circulation). The Technology / Media Lab on
the second floor is open all night during regular school time.
3. Accessible Entrance / Circulation
There are two doorway entrances to the building, both of which are accessible.
To arrive at the entrance level, however, one must first use the ramp located
at the north entrance, facing Green Library. From there, enter the library
through either the north entrance or the west entrance, which is also equipped
with a power door. Upon entering the building and scanning your Stanford ID
card, turn left to the elevator to access the upper levels. On the first floor,
the Reference and Privileges desks are located in the main hall, and an
accessible computer station is available for initial research. The second floor
contains the Public Computer Cluster, Language Lab, and Multimedia Technology Services
(including the Assistive Technology lab). The third floor houses references and
books, and the fourth floor is comprised of administrative offices.
4. Restrooms
The wheelchair accessible restrooms are located just outside the north entrance
and on the 2nd and 3rd floor of Meyer. Inside the building, the wheelchair
accessible restrooms are located on the far end of the corridor to the right
when exiting the elevator.
5. Parking & Transportation
Parking is available along Escondido Road, Crothers Way (access via Arguello
Way), or at the end of Abbott Way, which ends at Sweet Hall. There are also
several large lots available farther out along Escondido Road and Serra Street.
