The
Clubhouse is located at 524 Lasuen Mall. It is
adjacent to Old Union and directly across from the Bookstore in White
Plaza.
Use/Purpose:
Old
Union and its adjacent buildings (the "Clubhouse" and "Nitery") are three of the original architectural structures
on the Stanford campus when the University opened in 1892. Old Union Clubhouse
houses the Asian American Activities Center, the Native American Cultural
Center, the Ballroom (1st floor), and the Cardinal Room. Dance and
cultural events are held in this building.
Accessible Entrance:
The
Clubhouse has only one accessible entrance located via an accessible pathway
down the ramp on the eastern face of the building (to the left of the stairs
leading to Old Union). There is an
elevator straight ahead once inside the accessible entrance. The elevator
provides access to all floors (G, 1, 2). The ballroom is located on the
1st floor.
Restrooms:
Wheelchair
accessible men's and women's restrooms are located on
the ground floor (G) only. They are
located on the right side, down the hall, once inside the accessible
entrance.
Parking & Transportation:
The
closest disabled parking is located along Panama Mall to the north of the Nitery.
Additional disabled parking is located in a small parking lot between Old
Union and the Daily building and on Santa Teresa Street, near the Fire Truck
House. There is a Marguerite
shuttle stop on Lagunita Drive, at Tresidder Union.
Points of Interest:
Old
Union houses the Axe and Palm, a new favorite eating-place for students. The Axe
and Palm serves a wide variety of foods, ranging from breakfast to
desserts.
