Old
Union is located at 520 Lasuen Mall. It is
between the Old Union Clubhouse and the Nitery. It is directly across from the Bookstore
in White Plaza.
Use/Purpose:
Old
Union is a student centered building housing the Dean of Student Life, student
meeting places, student lounges, and an eating area. The Center for Inter-Religious Community, Learning and Experiences (CIRCLE) is located on the 3rd floor.
Accessible Entrance:
The
step-free path of travel to access Old Union is to the right and the left of the
stairs in White Plaza. There is
also an accessible path of travel from Tresidder
Union. The main entrance of Old
Union is accessible and has a power-operated door. This entrance leads
directly to the student lounge area with the elevator located towards the Axe
and Palm on the left. The elevator provides access to all levels of Old
Union (B, 1, 2, 3). There are two
accessible entrances on the east and southeast sides (near Tresidder) that lead directly to the Axe and Palm. The
rear entrance, located on Duena Street, is also
accessible.
Restrooms:
Wheelchair
accessible restrooms are located on all floors of Old Union, however, there are no restrooms at the basement
level. On the 1st floor,
wheelchair accessible men's, women's, and two all-gender restrooms are located near
the rear entrance. On the 2nd and 3rd floors,
wheelchair accessible restrooms are centrally located near the
elevator.
Parking & Transportation:
The
closest disabled parking is located in a small parking lot between Old Union and
the Daily Building. Additional
disabled parking is located on Santa Teresa Street near the Fire Truck House and
on Panama Mall near the Nitery. There is a Marguerite shuttle stop on
Lagunita Drive, at Tresidder
Union
Points of Interest:
Old
Union houses the Axe and Palm, a new favorite eating-place for students. The Axe
and Palm serves a wide variety of foods, ranging from breakfast to
desserts.
