Peterson Laboratory is located at 416
Escondido Mall. It is directly across
from the southwest corner of the Main Quad (Geology Corner) and adjacent to
Mitchell Earth Sciences.
Use/Purpose:
Peterson Laboratory is occupied by the
Mechanical Engineering Department and is home to the Hasso
Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, also known as ¿The D School.¿ A variety of office space, lab space, and
conference rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floors. A large open lounge area is located on the 1st
floor and classrooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floors.
Accessible Entrance:
All of the entrances to this building are
accessible. There are two entrances on the north side (facing the Quad) and
a side entrance across from Building 530 that are accessible, however the path
of travel is up an incline. There is also an accessible entrance along
Panama Mall. This entrance, equipped
with a power-operated door, is accessible via a ramp. Once inside, a ramp leads down to the 1st
floor area and the elevator is centrally located near the open lounge
area.
Restrooms:
Wheelchair accessible multi-occupancy men¿s
and women¿s restrooms are located on the 1st floor and all-gender restrooms are located on the 2nd
floor. Restrooms are down the hall across from the elevator.
The 1st floor restrooms are also equipped with a wheelchair accessible
shower stall and have power-operated doors.
Parking & Transportation:
The nearest disabled parking is located in
a small parking lot between the Daily Building and Old Union. Additional disabled parking is located on
Santa Teresa Street. The closest Marguerite
shuttle stop is located at Santa Teresa Street and Lomita Drive or behind Tresidder Union on Lagunita
Drive.
Points of Interest:
Peterson Laboratory is located within
close proximity of Old Union, Tresidder Union, and
the Main Quad. There are a variety of
